Puzzle Art With Gelli Arts and ZenART

Image
What began as a blank, white jigsaw puzzle turned full circle with some help from Gelli Arts and ZenART! And so easy to do - I promise! Let me show you.  I started with a blank puzzle which I purchased online from Amazon. This particular one has 96 pieces and came four to the set. Put together the puzzle is about 10" x 16", larger than I expected when I ordered these. But a good workable size for adding art.  I did not do a thing to prep the surface, I just started working. Here I am using a well loved 5" x 7" gel printing plate from Gelli Arts which I had placed on an acrylic block . I added small bits of two different inexpensive Walmart craft paints. After brayering out the color, I flipped my acrylic block and plate over and stamped the color straight onto the puzzle. I had no idea how the puzzle would react when I lifted the plate away. I was hoping for the best. And truthfully, saying a little prayer here and there.  And it all worked great. I had one pl

Painting Gel Prints With ZenART Brushes

There is a whole lot of great going on in this post today! And there are a load of photos! The paper you see is The Collection from Hahnemühle . It is their new game in town paper and I love it! The background was made with a 4" round gel printing plate from Gelli Arts ! All painting was completed using a couple different brushes from ZenART . Let's just jump right in and get started. The Collection comes in hot, cold and rough. I chose the cold pressed watercolor paper for this piece. It comes ten sheets to the block and they are 9.4" x 12.6" in size. Using a 1" painters tape I roughly divided my page into two equal painting areas. Hahaha! Look at that center line! Not in the middle at all. Hahahahaha!  Gelli Arts was so kind to send me a few of these 4" round gel printing plates to use for giveaways in Tangle All Around . I thought the plate would make an interesting background to paint on so I brought mine out of the drawer along with my 2" bra

Hahnemühle has just released a new line of paper that sets new standards for high-quality watercolor paper. No matter your watercolor skill or level, there is a paper for you in this set called The Collection . Cold pressed, hot pressed and rough all come in sheets and blocks depending on your preference. The Hahnemühle website describes The Collection using phrases like: unparalleled quality, prized cotton papers, durable paper surface, fibres do not lift, rub off or loosen, vegan, resistant to ageing and acid-free. A superb all around paper. So what to do, what to do? And though The Collection is called a 'watercolor' paper - don't let that limit what you do. Let me show you some of the various media I've tried and been successful with.  I began with an ultra fine Sharpie and drew my florals. I don't really know a lot about legit watercoloring but I would really like to learn. I began the background by liberally brushing water over the entire background area
