The 100 Day Project Update: 2/3 Completed

Maine. Northern Maine. Seven miles from Canada and we love living here. This past week we saw temperatures in the upper 60's. It was crazy. Even now we are in the upper 50's and no snow in the forecast. Our streams are full from all the winter's snow that is melting. Flood watches are in effect. We are good. This is the first year since we moved here five years ago that our basement has not flooded. Much less snow than in years past and it melted gradually. Not all at once.

The skies are usually crazy and yesterday was no different. This is a potato field. It won't be long now until the farmers are planting crops. They already have their equipment out of the barns getting it ready for the season. This is a big time in Maine. We have many potato farmers here. But I didn't bring you here to talk potatoes. Unless you just want to. Hahahahaha! I promised you some art.

Days 60 and 61 of The 100 Day Project. I wish I knew how many times I've typed 'The 100 Day Project" since we started this year's journey. Hahahaha! I began with a gel print that I made with my Gelli Arts gel printing plate. Great way to get some color and a base going. The critters are the art of Chris Ryniak. I just colored them and cut them out.

Days 62 and 63. I am still working in my Harmony hot pressed watercolor journal from Hahnemühle. It is perfect for daily journaling! This page started like many others - with that gelli print strip down the middle. I made it with my marbling technique. The half circle journal blocks - actually a circle I cut in half - were made with the gel plate also.

Can you just say 'dragon!'? I love them! I got a new dragon in the mail a couple days ago - I sat her on the dragon bench on the front porch. And I have another dragon coming in the mail. When I get him there will be pictures. Hahahahaha! Days 64 and 65. That green block underneath - it is not a gel print. It is packaging for a stencil I got from Lavinia stamps. Never throw away good color.

And just like that we are 2/3 of the way through The 100 Day Project. Days 66 and 67. Gel print underneath. One I didn't particularly care for but here a lot of it is covered up. Hahahahaha! And the colors went with my tiles. The girls are digital stamps I found on Pinterest.

Days 68 and 69. I love this page. So pink and pretty. Hahahaha! Me? I'm just a rainbow sprinkle in a vanilla world. Couldn't be more true if I had thought of it myself. The pink cookie muncher is another Chris Ryniak piece. This is the very last page in my Harmony journal. I am starting on another. BUT this is only the second time EVER that I have finished a whole book from the first page to the last page. Yay me!!!

I used to post a lot of photos of Maine, then COVID and lockdown happened. Mark and I rarely go anywhere now. One day a week we go to the dump and to the grocery store for curbside pickup. On Tuesdays we go to Brookside Inn for dinner and free cake. It's a great customer appreciation thing that Damian does every Tuesday.

But, I do have this picture of my cute little Rocket. I feed him every day. And along the way three of his buddies have joined in. They make quite the mess but they are so cute to watch. Rocket and Twitchie are the two main ones. They know us and I can put food in the bowl while they sit on the edge of the bowl like this and they don't even run away. The other two squirrels are a pain and I haven't named them.

That sums up my week. I have been painting lots of flowers. You will be seeing them soon. Have a great week!

  3. That marbled gelli print with that candy colourful washi tape on the frog spread looks superb & I can see you've really got into a good stride with your formula for constructing these journal pages. So useful once you've developed a methodology for you then speed up with the execution & don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you're going to start a new spread. The half circle journal sections are a great idea & add quite some interest, especially with the way that you place them.

    1. I took yesterday off and spent it coloring little people and animals to use on these pages. I go through them quickly.
