Off To a Good Start
Wanted to put this photo up front to give you an idea of what I'm doing for Octangling. You can view all these photos larger by simply clicking on them.
The tangle for October 1st was Jester from Marie Browning. I love Marie. She is such a friendly lady and helpful, too. She gave me advice when I first started looking at publishing books on my own. She is the Signature Designer for Tombow USA. Marie has even written several books on tangling and color.
You know that little 3.5" tile just needed some color. Looks blah without some color, don't you think? I am working here on a tile I cut from the Bristol Illustration paper from Hahnemühle. It is great for tangling, so smooth and your pens just glide across. Marie's tangle jester is a tangleation or tango of two other patterns - fescue and knightsbridge. To that I added a little tipple and some fun zingers!
Today's tangle is Snelly from Hanny Nura. I divided my tile into nine blocks of equal size and tangled a single snelly into each block. Working like this is called fragments, or I like to call them units. I carried the bands across to connect each block and filled them with a gold gelli roll pen. Shame that gold doesn't photograph so well. It is what it is. Yep. That's my current day philosophy of late.
This is my journal I made myself using the Bristol Illustration paper and my Bind-it-All machine. Those two strips of gelli print leftovers (don't throw anything away) are from a project I showed you a few days ago.
You may recognize the page here. One of the very first gelli prints I ever made. Probably 5 years ago and I still had it. I had to cut off part of it to make it fit on my page there on the left. And I figured today those strips would tie my right hand page in to the left and make a nice set of pages. If you care to see it larger, just click on the photo. Two days into Octangling and I am still keeping up. Hahahahahahahaha! Want to join in the fun? Come on over to Tangle All Around on Facebook by clicking here. I'll meet you at the door.

Love the way your gelli print ties in with the facing page. Jester looks gorgeous all decked out in his colours & the zingers are a lovely addition. As for the golden Snelly - a real beauty!
ReplyDeletethanks, Evy, when I saved those strips I didn't know what I would use them for. I just didn't want to toss them out. I was pleased that Snelly worked so well as a fragment
