Catching Up With The 100 Day Project

Unbelievably The 100 Day Project is 2/3 of the way complete! The time has flown past and many of us are still dedicated to the art making. Not going to kid you - it is hard to find the time each day. And some 'days' become every other day, but it is what it is. Can I just say I love how this page turned out! I have some new acrylic paints from Cosmic Shimmer called Shimmer paints and they are gorgeous! I used a little water and just swiped the color up and down the page in my Harmony hot pressed watercolor journal from Hahnemühle. I used a flat brush from my Black Tulip set from ZenART. The tiles and round elements were cut from Hahnemühle's Bristol. Days 47 and 48 are shown here.

Days 49 and 51 are shown on this page. Nothing fancy. I had this blue piece of art from a purchase 7 or 8 years ago and had been saving it for something special.

Day 50 happened to be Birthday Time with our family. Mark and the Frankles share that day. We celebrated together. The Frankles turned 8 and all she wanted was art supplies. She drew these pictures for me over dinner. I scanned them and reduced the size a little to add to this page. A dragon because she knows I love those, some mice and a mean cat - I have no idea why, hahahaha! and maybe one of the birds that steals Rocket's sunflower seeds. Not sure on that last one. I used the Shimmer Shimmer paints again - this time with my Gelli Arts brayer. A great way to get a color background on your page.

I love this page! Days 52 and 53. This book seriously makes me so happy! I am keeping up with my daily journaling for Creative Crafty Friends and I am keeping up (mostly) with The 100 Day Project for Tangle All Around. The strip across the middle is part of a page from last year's calendar from Hahnemühle. I loved the color combination and held on to it to use in this book. Many people have asked about the images I color and include on my pages. Most of them come from Pinterest. You can search for free coloring pages or free coloring images and find them.

Days 54 and 55. The gel print strips were made by my friend Beth Broadway. The colors were perfect with my background using more of that shimmer paint. The little dragon guy on the tile was a complete fluke. I was making color using plastic wrap and when it all dried I could totally see an animal shape. Love that!

Another 'favorite' page. Purple and teal make me happy! Days 56 and 57 - I am finding new ways to incorporate two days of the project on one page in this Harmony book. I included a gel print background - it is included in my book More Tangle Starts. The purple flowers are actually stencil clean off using Stencil Butter. Fun stuff to work with!

With days 58 and 59, I am within four days of being caught up. Hahahaha! Actually I have tiles drawn for two of those days. I used another gel print with those orange and teal clockworks, the piece in the center is stencil butter.

Here is a little better look at that stencil butter. Using the butter with a stencil allows you to achieve a little depth. And the colors are shimmery and beautiful.

Now it is time for me to get back to work. Back to the Project. I will leave you with a few links and hope to see you back here soon.

  1. Thought I'd commented here.......... love the way the yellow echoes through on the large green steampunk background, the little woodland elf's yellow collar & the yellow golden shine of your muddy stencil butter. Great to see Frankles enjoying art things with you too.
