You Are Amazing!

Great idea happening over on Facebook in Creative Crafty Friends! One of the admins had the idea that we should be building each other up, not tearing each other down. And she is spot on right with that thought! A couple times a week she will be giving us a prompt for an ATC that we can make and swap within the group. Actually two ATCs each time. Don't know what an ATC is? Let me show you.

An ATC is 2.5" wide and 3.5" tall. A small piece of art. Many times the ATC swap will have a specific theme. This time the theme is Amazing. I have no idea at this point who I will be swapping this to because I signed up first. Hahahaha! I was all over this challenge! I took a small piece of gelli print I had made earlier with my Gelli Arts printing plate and cut out a 2.5 x 3.5" card. I inked the edges with black Archival ink, then used a technical pen from Zebra Pen to outline some of the segments on the background. Joggles sells a bunch of Art By Marlene collage elements books and as I flipped through my copies I came up with these three pieces that I liked. A bird body - I chopped off his head for an earlier piece of art -, a crown and a sun with a face. I liked the way they went together even though they are from three separate things. I used a little Sticky Stuff tape to adhere the pieces to my card. The words are from a Tim Holtz sayings book. And just like that my first ATC was complete.

I wanted my second ATC to be a bit goofy. Cause that is what I like. Hopefully whoever gets these two ATCs likes goofy, too. If not . . . my bad! Hahahaha! I forgot to point out in the first one but I can tell you now - the pink dots were made with a fluorescent pink Sharpie paint pen.  Some times those work well, some times they do what they want. But it's all good and goofy. The flower and bits of face were from various Art By Marlene books. I flipped through to find the pieces I liked. I used a set of small letters to stamp on the wording. Oh! The base is another gelli print. You can never have too many of those prints on hand. I use them for everything! Pretty much!

Now on to the next swap. Our new word is Delightful!

  2. The creatures you manage to create! I'm not surprised you were the first to sign up as I know you really like the ATC format & I can see you're getting a lot out of those collage elements books. Your gelli plate backgrounds always come in handy whatever you're doing for you make them in such a versatile way that you can do most things with them. The florals are particularly successful the way you've been pairing them with the gelli prints.

    1. I like working with ATCs because they are quick. I don't have a lot of extra time just for myself, when I do I like to make ATCs
