OCTangling Goes Into Week Three

OCTangling week three is underway and we are working together in Tangle All Around on Facebook. You should totally join us! Hahaha! Yes, you should! This is my giant 10.5" tile with all the tangles through week three. Looks kind of grungy, doesn't it? That was intentional. I made it happen with a spray bottle of water. Let me show you more about OCTangling. 




Here is the list we are working with. The numbers represent the dates of October. The first word is the tangle for the day. The second is the prompt given by Jake. You can incorporate it into your drawing. Or you can do what I am doing and ignore it. Hahahahaha! Here are the seven tangles for the week: 















And those are them. A decent variety of easy to a little harder. To challenge you and develop your skills. I would suggest if you draw these steps in your journal or sketchbook, that you include the pattern name AND the name of the designer. It is always good to give credit where credit is due.

    This link worked OK from the email - must have been an odd glitch on that other one!!! Your big tile is really filling up nicely. Your white highlights draw the eye beautifully.

The little Hedwig-Gryffindor-wannabe is a drawing by Chris Ryniak that I colored to look like a Harry Potter character - Hedwig, Harry's owl. The background is bits and pieces of scraps from a number of projects. Some of the tangled blocks are from Octangling this past year and one is from a page I made for the Tangle It! Tangled Dragonflies All Around

What do steampunk and dragonflies have in common? Tangle All Around! Hahaha! My tangling Facebook group called Tangle All Around is providing the art today. In June and July we are working with patterns that go well with steampunk art. Don't like steampunk? That's alright, too. These patterns will work in your regular tangle routine as well.  I provided a dragonfly template to the group and asked them to tangle it using any of the steampunk patterns they wanted to and I welcomed them to use any other tangles they needed. This is the dragonfly I made using some of the patterns from week one. This is the template I gave the group. Some people printed it out and tangled, and some people free-handed the template and went from there. Let me show you the beautiful art my talented group made. Octangling, 2020 Has Begun

  That post title is a way hopeful statement. Hahahahahaha! I haven't even started my first day tile yet and the day is over half way done. I have too many things I am trying to do all at once. But. Octangling for this year has begun in my Facebook group Tangle All Around . And I am already seeing some lovely pieces of art! You may be asking . . . what is Octangling. I am glad you asked. There is a young man who started an event years ago he dubbed Inktober. Every October he encourages people like you and me to draw something every day during the month. Nothing fancy, nothing we can't all do. And he gives a prompt for each day to give you an idea of what to draw. Our FB group has participated the past 3 years using a list of tangles I give them. This year I hesitate to use his name for the project because he is suing a lot of people and companies for selling pieces of art they made during his monthlong project. So.
