Storms Don't Last Forever

Let's see if I remember how to do this. I am told that chemo brain is a real thing. What I know about chemo brain is I find it hard to get motivated and accomplish anything. Specifically art. Back a little over a month ago I was able to put these journal pages together in a day with some new product. Let me show you how I built these pages. 

I began with a few simple supplies. Joggles is carrying a new line of products called 49 and Market. I bought a few things hoping they would get me in the mood to make art. I got a nice cover and some signatures to go inside. The beauty of signatures is you can remove the whole piece from the journal so you can work without all the bulk. When you are finished you just pop it back in. For my background I went with these colors of Amsterdam acrylic paints. 

Beginning with the azo yellow lemon, I squeezed just a bit onto my page. 

With no real plan I used the brayer to roll color onto my two page spread. Azo orange was the second color rolled out. At this point I was just trying to get some coverage while still leaving white spaces. 

This is what I had after adding my Amsterdam acrylics. Nothing fancy. Just a basic background of color. 

49 and Market also has a line of rub-on transfers. I used the plum essential text blend sheet to add the print, the postal stamp and the butterfly. Then I added two of their washi tapes: Eggplant Lace and Insta Postage Stamp.

I knew I was going to add a couple dragons and needed a way to tie them into these pages. On the page opposite those green postage stamps I added this scrap piece of gel printed paper I had saved. Don't throw those scraps away. This was from a zetti session of art a couple years ago that I had left over. 

From there I just started adding in bits and pieces from around my desk. Hahahaha! Those dragons are Pinterest images that I downloaded and colored with Copic markers. The dragons sticker at the bottom left was part of a postage stamp set from the Post Office that I saved after I used up the stamps. The orange tag was sent to me by Beth Broadway. She is the best! Every so often I'll get an envelope from her. This week she sent me some awesome stickers with her art on them. I'll show those to you soon. 

I am making myself add handwriting and notes to these pages. Not something I enjoy doing but something I realize I need to do. 

I finished up with dot markers and a black pen for some extra little details. And notice that lower left corner where I included the Buccaneers' football score that day. It was one of the few games they have managed to win this year. I thought about adding black ink around the edges of these pages but did not since they were part of a booklet. The 49 and Market items are really nice! I may just have to make another couple of journal pages. Hopefully. Hahahahaha!
