What do steampunk and dragonflies have in common? Tangle All Around! Hahaha! My tangling Facebook group called Tangle All Around is providing the art today. In June and July we are working with patterns that go well with steampunk art. Don't like steampunk? That's alright, too. These patterns will work in your regular tangle routine as well. I provided a dragonfly template to the group and asked them to tangle it using any of the steampunk patterns they wanted to and I welcomed them to use any other tangles they needed. This is the dragonfly I made using some of the patterns from week one. This is the template I gave the group. You can click on any of the photos to see them larger. Artist is Aga Forra. Artist as Amy Heather. Artist is Ana Maria Migone. Artist is Anita Sinha. Artist is Betsy Rit...
So let's start with a happy photo.Yesterday I told you I would update you on my health today and that is what this post is all about. The good news is I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now. The head of the x-ray department came straight to me and said I would not be allowed to leave the hospital. She escorted me to the ER based on this x-ray alone. Those open black areas are my lungs. You can see that the one on my left was almost ...
Hahahaha! You may be asking how this funny graphic goes with my title How Great Thou Art . The answer is simple. It doesn't. I just found it in my Facebook memories today and you know - it describes me perfectly. Hahahaha! And I love it! But it isn't why we are here today. I want to show you how I made this piece of art I am calling scripture art . Scripture Art is a beautiful process of combining the scripture, music, praise, memorization, meditation, drawing, painting and appreciating all in one simple project. (And maybe some snacks and coffee.) I began by taping off two 'pages' on one sheet in my Agave watercolor pad from Hahnemühle . My song choices were easy. How Great Thou Art was my Dad's favorite hymn and I had it sung at his funeral. I knew this had to be my first scripture art. Not a scripture per se but based on the scriptures. On the right hand side are the lyrics to the song Praise You In This Storm . I knew I was going to watercolor over the to...
