The Gift of Tangles Concludes For 2023

The Gift of Tangles, 2023, has wrapped up and I wanted to catch you up with that before we start something new. In the last post I gave you tangles for December 16 - 22, but I didn't have art ready for all those days. Let me start this post by showing you the rest of the art I did for The Gift of Tangles starting with the above page for the 16th.

While running the events I am also working on a new book that will have at least 500 new tangles. It is hard to keep up when I am doing that. This page was done for the 18th when the tangle was Opus.

The 19th, the tangle of the day was Poinsettia. I used an old watercolor piece in the background.

I wasn't feeling the tangle for the 20th, so I substituted nebula instead. All these pages have been built in the daily journal I made using Bristol Illustration paper from Hahnemühle and my Bind-It-All machine.

For the 21st I pulled out this Grinch setup drawn by Krista Leigh Smith and colored it with Copics. Most of the girl characters you see like this are from Krista.

The reason for the season - the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The tangle is spiteria designed by Wanphai Nongrun. And Krista also drew this Nativity. This was the last page I made for the Gift of Tangles. For a week now I've been working long hours on the new book. I'm thinking about calling it When Life Gives You Lemons. Let me give you the tangles for the rest of the year, starting with the 23rd and running through the 31st.

And that wraps up The Gift of Tangles, 2023. Need to see the detail better? You can click on any of these images and enlarge them to make it easier to see. Thanks for joining us this month as we worked towards the end of the year by celebrating tangles!

Want the journey to continue? On Facebook in my group Tangle All Around we have just started 100 Days of Tangling! Each day we will tangle a specific pattern in hopes of building a habit of creating through the use of tangles. You can join us by clicking here. If you don't use FB watch for new posts here. I will keep you updated with the tangles for the week.

Want to be sure not to miss a post? Send an email to kenoly2000@hotmail.com with the word Subscribe in the subject bar and I will sign you up. Every post will drop straight to your email. I promise not to flood you with posts. And now . . . Happy New Year! May God richly bless you and your loved ones in 2024. And if you have a moment say a prayer for me. I had a test come back with some problems. I will be seeing a specialist on the 29th for a biopsy to determine if my cancer has returned. Much love from me to you!

  1. Take care with all you're doing - it sounds like a lot & I know working on a book is pretty labour intensive for you.
My favourites of these are the nativity scene & the poinsettia one: particularly the poinsettia with its deep red echoed in the carol image & the dragonfly/floral collage image.
Prayer definitely continues - for you & the family.
Take good care - much love, Evy
